The driver of a light motor vehicle has died and a 63-year-old motorcyclist is in a critical condition after the two collided on the R42 towards Heidelberg this afternoon, 13 November 2019.
ER24 paramedics were on the scene with another service at 12:10 to find the deceased driver still in his vehicle and the rider lying next to the car and bike. The damage to the vehicle from the impact of the bike was significant and the rider had suffered multiple, critical injuries. He was treated in another service’s ambulance on the way to hospital by our Advanced Life Support medic. The driver of the light motor vehicle showed no signs of life and was unfortunately declared dead on the scene. Two other riders luckily managed to avoid the collision scene.
The Traffic and Fire Department were also present for rescue assistance and investigations.
