A collision left a motorcyclist dead on 3 January.
Traffic in the north of Pretoria at the Rachel de Beer intersection was brought to a standstill following a collision on Friday.
At around 11 am emergency personnel were deployed to the corner of Rachel de Beer road and Danie Theron street after a collision involving a motorcycle and a light motor vehicle.
“The male driver of the motorcycle had unfortunately already passed away when we arrived at the accident scene,” Xander Loubser, spokesperson for Best Care ambulance services, told Rekord.
On arrival paramedics, which included Best Care, CLA and Netcare 911, initiated advanced life support on the motorcycle rider.
“Unfortunately the patient could not be revived.”
Loubser said the body was then handed over to the Pretoria North police. The female driver in the light motor vehicle sustained no injuries.
The exact cause of the accident is yet unknown and will form part of a police investigation.
