A young woman (passenger) was killed and male (rider) seriously injured this morning when the rider lost control of his motorcycle on Homestead Road in Randfontein, west of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 11:10 am on Friday 29 June 2018, to find the motorcycle lying on the grass in the centre medium. Both the rider and passenger were found lying a few metres away.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the woman had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead. On the assessment of the man, it was found that he had sustained serious injuries. He was treated and taken to Krugersdorp Private Hospital with serious injuries.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
