Become an MSI Accredited Training Partner
Our Accredited Training Partner Programme extends our standard to riding schools, academies, and training institutions who wish to deliver MSI training programmes through MSI-certified instructors.
Accreditation is voluntary and in no way dictates MSI as a governing authority in South Africa.
What accreditation means
An MSI Accredited Training Partner is a training institution that delivers MSI rider training programmes through active, MSI-certified instructors and facilitators who meet our facility, safety, and conduct guidelines, thereby maintaining a recognised standard adopted by major fleet operators and stakeholders across the African continent.
Accreditation covers your delivery of MSI programmes — it is not a blanket endorsement of your entire curriculum or general operations.
Who it’s for
Riding schools, academies, and training institutions that want to align with and become part of a recognised curriculum and be listed as an official MSI training partner.
What you need to qualify
- At least one active, MSI-certified instructor on your team.
- A suitable training facility and/or range that meets MSI guidelines.
- Appropriate public liability insurance.
- Agreement to MSI’s use-of-mark guidelines.
Having an MSI-certified instructor on staff makes you eligible to apply — it doesn’t, on its own, confer accreditation.
What you receive
- The right to use the MSI Accredited Training Partner mark, within the marketing guidelines.
- A listing as an Accredited Training Partner on the MSI website.
- Referral of prospective training in your area and national projects.
- Authorisation to deliver MSI programmes and issue official MSI course certificates.
- Access to updated MSI Urban Rider Course and Mindset & Culture Shift materials.
- Opportunity to promote your riding school on MSI socials.
How it works
- Apply using the Accredited Training Partner application form.
- We review your application and assess eligibility.
- We assess and advise on your facility and operations where applicable.
- On approval, you’re accredited and may begin using the MSI partner mark.
- Accreditation is renewed annually on continued compliance.
Fees
Annual accreditation fees are tiered by institution size:
| Tier | Institution | Annual Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Riding School: one MSI instructor, single site | R2 500 |
| Tier 2 | Riding School: two or more MSI instructors, single site | R4 500 |
| Tier 3 | Academy: multiple instructors and/or multiple sites | From R6 500 |
Fees are payable annually in advance. The individual certification renewal fees of the institution’s instructors are separate and remain payable.
Optional — official MSI course certificates issued to students at R150 per student, giving partners access to recognised certification and giving MSI oversight of delivery volumes.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if our MSI instructor leaves? Accreditation is contingent on having at least one active MSI-certified instructor. If you have none, accreditation lapses until an active instructor is back in place — so it’s worth keeping more than one certified.
Can we advertise our whole school as “MSI”? No. You may state that you’re an MSI Accredited Training Partner delivering MSI programmes. The mark applies to MSI programme delivery, not your entire catalogue.
We’re keen but not fully set up yet — can we start? Yes. Provisional accreditation lets committed schools begin while completing facility or documentation requirements, for up to six months.
Does MSI inspect our facility? Yes. MSI may inspect, advise, and observe delivery to maintain the standard the mark represents.
How long is the Accreditation valid for? Accreditation runs for 12 months from the date granted and renews annually on payment of the fee and confirmation of continued compliance.
